Faulty Black Diamond Distance FLZ Trekking Poles - returned

Absolutely top service!!! :-)

I purchased a set of these poles last year and started using them in November 2024. In April 2024 both locking mechanisms broke when while engaging them into the lock (usable/extended/locked) position. I returned them to Travel Universe and received a reply a day or two after writing to them and sending pics of the broken locking mechanism. They informed me new poles had been shipped to me and provided instructions on how to return the old poles at no expense to me. so they could return them to Sea to Summit for quality assessment.

This was excellent service and practically an unheard of response from a company these days. Usually these days one expects to have to argue about the fit for purpose of items and it is such a battle to get a fair deal. This response was refreshing and so unexpected!

The new poles are spot on as have been the ones I have had for many years prior to this failure.

THANK YOU TRAVEL UNIVERSE AND YOU WILL BE THE FIRST PLACE I LOOK FOR ANY ITEMS I WISH TO PURCHASE IN THE FUTURE. Congratulations on your excellent customer service :-)
